In order to improve the efficiency of resource utilization, Jiugang Group has cooperated with Northeastern University, Shenyang Xinbo Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. and other units to jointly develop a suspension magnetization roasting technology for refractory iron oxide ore, and invested in the construction of a suspension with an annual processing capacity of 1.65 million tons of raw ore. The magnetized roasting and beneficiation production line was officially put into operation on November 21, 2020, and achieved full production and compliance on June 25 this year. Compared with the original strong magnetic separation process, the iron grade of the concentrate is increased by 12%, and the metal recovery rate is increased by 26%. The effect is very significant.

At the evaluation meeting, seven experts including Sun Chuanyao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, listened to reports, reviewed materials, and discussed inquiries, focusing on the degree of technological innovation, the advanced degree of technical and economic indicators, technical difficulty and complexity, technical reproducibility and maturity, Technological innovation has carefully evaluated the results in six aspects, including the role of promoting industry technological progress and improving market competitiveness, economic or social benefits, and the final evaluation opinions have been formed. Evaluation experts believe that the scientific and technological achievements completed by Jiuquan Steel Group and other units have a high degree of technological innovation. The first domestic and foreign suspension magnetized roasting and beneficiation production line with an annual processing of 1.65 million tons of fine ore has advanced technical indicators and solved complex and difficult-to-dress iron ore. The problem of efficient use of resources has greatly promoted the technological progress of the iron ore beneficiation industry. In view of the difficulties in the nature of the ore of Jiuquan Iron and Steel, the Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group and other project achievement completion units actively explored and practiced, solved a series of technical problems in the industrial application of suspension magnetization roasting technology, and achieved stable operation and the entire process reached production standards.
