The surface coating of this galvanized sheet is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and a small amount of other elements. Observed under a microscope, the coating surface forms a honeycomb structure, and the aluminum honeycomb contains zinc.
While galvanized coatings provide anodic protection, there are certain limitations. With the reduced zinc content and the wrapping of aluminum around the zinc material, electrolysis becomes less likely. However, this also means that once the galvanized sheet is cut, the protective layer will be damaged, and the cutting edge is prone to rust. In order to prolong the service life of the plate, it is recommended to minimize cutting and take anti-rust measures, such as painting anti-rust paint or zinc-rich paint.
